Next time we see a person struggling, step over that barricade of awkwardness to get to a place where help is extended. […] Now let’s imagine our place in it. There is always room for generosity; for that posture of hospitality which welcomes those around us. We welcome them to our heart, and we create a space in our lives for others. The kind of world I want to pass on to my children and grandchildren is one where people look hard into the eyes of the other and see the very face of God.

Show off your ‘niceness’

This can be by reaching out to the people you love or a kind word to a stranger. We all know this is important but life can get in the way. Especially in our current, uncertain, ‘new normal’ (I hate that phrase, so apologies for using it!). We can’t get together as much as we might have before. And we are barraged with negative news on the daily. It’s so much more vital that we remind each other regularly of how much love we have.

What do I want to write about? The books that I am reading, the clothes that I wear, the places I visit, the food I cook, the politics and its effect on my life, the farm life, my spiritual journey, the struggles of being a woman; of being fat; black; dark skinned; bad-skinned; thick skinned; strong yet weak at the same time. I want to share my self-care and self-development journey and to let you know that it is possible.
